Ordering

This isn't going to be easy as Amazon... First of all, there's little that can be ordered as a number or item. My work is one of a kind and generally produced with the input of clients.

Here's how an order is processed.  Email or call me with your interests (table, chair, whatever) and let me know which item on the site you found appealing -- or which elements of several items. Armed with that and any sizing or color requirements, I'll provide you with a quote and drawing (although I work from steel, not drawings, which means I do not try to transfer a drawing line for line to the work - instead I modify pieces as I produce them.) Sometimes, we'll just talk the design through on the phone or in emails. I'll also give you a delivery time.

You can simply ask me to "do the 'Counting Chair', or the 'Meandering Chandelier,'" and I'll repeat the item. But you must remember that each piece is individual. "Alike in kind, not detail," is a useful motto for a guy who's cutting steel with fire and then bending it by hand.

Much of what I do are tables and mirrors, so you can use the pricing sheets in the "Tables" and "Mirrors" sections to get a good idea of what your quote will be (it's how I will be quoting...)  For other items, there is so much variety in the work that I need to quote as I get particulars.

Part 2 of this is shipping. If the work is small enough to go UPS, things are simple. You pay the actual UPS charge, no handling or packing, and I can provide you with the amount beforehand so that it is included in your payment to me for the work. If the item is too large for UPS, we enter the World of Trucking.  The costs are high and there is little I can do to estimate it until I drive the crate to the drop off. I've found the simplest way to handle truck freight payment is to ship the item to you freight collect. You're still only paying the actual shipping costs, but you pay it to the truck driver. In these cases, I will email you with the amount after I ship it so you can be prepared. Happily, most work can be sent UPS.

Inevitably, the word "returns" enters the discussion. Again, this is not a retail giant with which you're dealing. Your orders are commissions, and when I have the opportunity to show a client examples of my work style before they order, those orders are not refundable. As that is not the case here, my solution is that I will allow you to return the item within ten days of receipt (long enough to let it settle or not) for a refund of 70% purchase price. Freight to you and from you is your responsibility.

When I provide you the quote for the piece, I'll provide a "Custom Order Agreement" which will include payment instructions. Payment to me can be by check, or you can use cards via PayPal. (Follow the link below to Paypal Land.)
