Shard and Tile Edged Mirrors Shard boarders are comprised of bits of
glazed and unglazed terra cotta worn smooth by tumbling and sometimes bits of
faux antiquities (I used to say body bits, people took exception...) These are
porcelain and raku forms taken from molds of small sections of Greek tourist
art: parts of Goddesses, architectural details, Athena's owl, even a butt or
two... Color range on shards are somewhat limited. Generally, shard and tile mirror are powdercoated, and the standard boarder on them is approximately 1 1/2" wide. Production time of shard and tile mirrors runs to 4 to 6 weeks because of the extra processes.
